I have always been uncomfortable when we in America appear to present the gospel in an almost equal relationship and value with patriotism. I love America. But the government of America is not the government of Heaven. I am praying and I am believing that one day, our government along with all the governments on this planet and in our world will become the Kingdoms of our God and His Christ and our King will reign over them forever, but that is not the reality now. The Kingdom of God is the government of Heaven.

I have asked are we offering the Kingdom of God, or are we presenting the American way of life? The central theme and the primary message and our charge from our King is to present His Kingdom Realm and its reality and power for humanity. Until the government of America becomes the Kingdom of our God and until He reigns over the affairs of our government, we will have our racial, economic and class challenges because of the greed and because of the corruption of this world. The kingdoms of this world are directed and are influenced by the kingdom of darkness. No government will ever replace His government – the Kingdom Government of our God.

Humanity continues desperately to seek today. What are we showing them and what are we demonstrating to them by our conduct and by our behavior?

The Kingdom of God is our Creator and our Designer God’s System and His Plan for total order. It is His government on the earth as it is in Heaven. The Kingdom is expressed as a realm or as a higher dimensional plane with greater authority and with greater power than the dimension man experiences on the earth in our earthly atmosphere. The Kingdom is described as a reign or as government (the government of Heaven) that our King, Jesus has made available for all of humanity to engage.

Jesus did not have evangelistic crusades or healing meetings. He had Kingdom meetings where all the things that we appear to have made central, and the relativisms that have served to divide us into groups, were considered ancillary results of gaining a Kingdom Realm understanding and from establishing a personal Kingdom Realm engagement and relationship through our King, Jesus. An absolute with no division.

I am not taking away anything from these specific doctrines or discrediting them in any way. All those doctrines are important. Very important.

But they were and they are not the central message of Christ and were not a hill on which we are to establish a Kingdom.

We must understand that they are relativisms that relate to the absolute Kingdom of our God, which is the central theme and the primary message of the Gospel of our King, the unchanging and absolute person of Jesus. They were the results of encountering the Kingdom realm and its understanding and then having a personal Kingdom realm engagement experience with and through Jesus our King.

Which of these doctrines did Jesus say must be preached before the end come? Interestingly, this is a very enlightening announcement for our consideration of priorities from our King.

“And this good news of the Kingdom (the Gospel) will be preached throughout the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then will come the end.”

Isn’t it interesting how and why Nicodemus came to Jesus with his questions, and even more interesting and enlightening how Jesus answered him?

I cannot find where Jesus taught the doctrines the way that we teach them today. The primary theme and the central message of Christ to humanity when He was on the earth was the Kingdom realm of God.

Nicodemus wanted to know how does one enter and engage this Kingdom realm, and how can I become a member/citizen of this kingdom? The conversations Jesus had with people (as in the woman at the well in John 4, and Nicodemus John 3) were always answered in terms of eternity and from the position of their personal eternalness.

Jesus did not teach salvation, sanctification, redemption, holiness, faith, healing, deliverance, and any other doctrine in the same manner that we do. It appears that Jesus taught these experiences only as they related to and as they were and are relative to the Kingdom realm of our God.

Jesus always answered the questions that humanity asked of Him in the Kingdom realm of eternity and in our personal eternalness. Is that how and where we are to live and how we are to respond to our questions about our humanness, on our temporary time journey? I believe the answer is obvious.

Throughout history, when man has embraced a totalitarian system devised by other men, what they were really looking for was the system of the Kingdom government of our God that Jesus Himself delivered to the earth.

Sadly, they did not know that the Kingdom of God even existed and was what they were looking for. And the church did not tell them. The church had opportunity, but the church chose to share other things with them, things that were relativisms themselves.

The church did not share the universal Kingdom of our God with them. The church shared divisive doctrines of relativisms instead of the eternal, unshakeable Kingdom of our God.

As E. Stanley Jones says, the church became wrapped up in the issues of the day: fundamentalist vs. modernist; the social gospel vs. the individual gospel; racial integration; the secular church; long hair vs. short hair; beards vs. non-beards; the church-building orgy; then vestments and candles and robes; conversion; abolition of poverty and the ghettos – every issue except the Kingdom of God.

The time has come for us to correct this great omission. It is time for all believers in Jesus everywhere to return to the words of our Master, to return to that which is eternal, unshakeable, and absolute. All of our lives must point to, flow from, and have our being in the Kingdom of our God.

For weeks we have been discussing absolutes, relativisms, idolatries, and man’s failed attempts to produce an all-encompassing system for human flourishing. Time and again, men have tried to create grand systems for society that only ended in hardship, oppression, enslavement, and loss of life.

The political relativisms and idolatries of this world only ever consider that which can be seen and felt, that which is here and now. They  completely neglect what humanity really needs:  a system that goes beyond mere earthly concerns to include that which is transcendent, that which is eternal, and that which possesses ultimate power.

Where can humanity turn for such a system?

Only the Kingdom System of our God Jehovah makes God supreme, embraces and engages our transcendent relationship with Him, and allows humanity to engage in the power that it delivers for life now and life forever. This results in total and complete freedom.

Only when humanity believes in, accepts, and follows His way of doing and His way of being right do we find total and complete freedom. Only then do we enjoy the liberty to live life successfully. The only place on this planet where corruption, greed, and evil cannot exist is in His Kingdom and in His Citizens who pursue His way of doing and being right.

The Kingdom System of our God is our master light for all our seeing and for all our knowing.

Simply stated, Man is made for the Kingdom System of our God, and the Kingdom System of our God is made for man. Nothing else will fit.
