KSAM: Share the Life of Heaven

Recently in our blog series, we’ve been discussing how imperative it is to open the eyes and ears of our spirit to the eternal realm. We must view the events and circumstances of our lives from an eternal perspective, and then draw upon the resources of the Kingdom of heaven to effect change in our lives. Today, let’s take a look at what the author of Hebrews says about this:

“And so, dear brothers and sisters, you are now made holy, and each of you is invited to the feast of your heavenly calling. So fasten your thoughts fully onto Jesus, whom we embrace as our Apostle and King-Priest.” Hebrews 3:1, TPT

“Invited to the feast” here can be translated to “sharers of the feast.” “Your heavenly calling” implies an invitation to a celestial feast or a heavenly feast.  We are invited to participate as partners in the heavenly calling, or in other words, we are called to share the life of heaven. When? NOW!

Paraphrased, this scripture says that as Sons and Daughters we are invited to be partakers of and to share the life of heaven, which is a celestial (heavenly) feast. Our calling originates in heaven and draws us to heaven. Our agreement is a legally binding agreement with Jesus, who functions as our Apostle and as our King-Priest. As Apostle, Jesus releases us into our priestly calling of entering into the holy of holies without going through any system of man, a church, or a person. As King-Priest, Jesus was not of the tribe Levi but of the tribe of Judah. The Word used here is kumrea, which was the word used for Jethro and Melchizedek who were not High Priests, but kingly priests.

We are called by heaven to heaven. We are invited to share heaven with those who do not know or who do not understand their calling and our calling — its origin and its purposes. Everything about us has its origin and finds its purpose in heaven’s realm for our eternity.
