Giving, Part 2: Not Need, But Seed

We have addressed giving of our resources other than the resource of money. There is a statement presented that says that every created thing has within it the ability to reproduce itself, seed bearing seed of its own kind. This is an important understanding in the pursuit of success. As simple as it may seem, you cannot plant corn and harvest green beans. In the trichotomy of humanity, humanity is an eternal spirit that lives in a body and is managed by their soul or their mind. Each of the forms of humanity has substance and they have purpose. Each produces seed of its own kind.

This understanding of seed and like kind reproduction continues through all of nature and all of humanity’s actions. Human seed produces humans, animal’s seed produces animals, and plant seed produces plants. I believe this continues throughout all of humanity’s acts and activity. Receiving is the production of the seed of giving, like kind reproduction. Giving creates giving.

Another important principle that can be drawn is that what you give or plant is what you will receive or harvest. Humanity’s understanding of the giving or planting principle is extremely important in achieving Kingdom success. What we plant or what we give is what we receive or harvest. What do you need? What do you need in your life or the life of your Family, Friends or others? Do you need money, relationship, fellowship, health, forgiveness, joy, peace, faith, understanding, love, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self control, good will, respect or whatever it is that you need? You must plant seeds of the attribute or character that you are seeking to develop or cure in your life in order for that to develop. I have heard it said that our God does not respond to need, but that He does respond to seed. How often have we prayed and pleaded with God, when all that God was waiting for was seed? Good seed that He could work with to produce the request that we were bombarding Heaven about. Where we plant is important. The soil or environment where we place our seed is equally as important. In the parable of the seeds, the importance of “good soil” is stressed.

I have observed so many planting the incorrect seeds in the incorrect soil for the harvest they needed so badly. The resulting futility was so easily avoidable.

How do we prepare the soil of our spirits? We follow the Dynamics of Conduct and Behavior and we allow the Holy Spirit God to create just the right soil for the seed of the Words of our God to take root in our spirits and in our minds and to grow into the image of our God. We also must renew our souls and our minds by the Words of our God. This simple process will change our culture (the way we think). Our thoughts will become agreeable with His thoughts and our plans will be established and succeed. I have seen it happen many times. It works.

Consider this: How tragic would it be to live your life and to observe those around you whose life experiences and their life outcomes were full of struggle and defeat? When you knew that there were several simple but profound understandings of principles and guidelines that would provide life experiences of victory and success? I believe that is exactly what is happening today. Have we missed the simplicity of the message? We are told to make our understanding of the System, the Plan, and the Way to do things correctly to be our first and primary objective. Sadly, most do not even know there is a System, a Plan, or a Way to do things other than those that we learn in school or by experience living in the Kingdom of Darkness. This understanding is revolutionary. It is counter-cultural. It will completely change our conduct and behavior. It defies the common understanding of how life works on our planet. It does not take a genius or rocket scientist to know the System, the Plan, and the Ways of the Kingdom of Darkness are not working.

All of the Cultural Mountains of Influence under the Leadership of the Kingdom of Darkness have failed. Government, Economy – Business and Enterprise, Media, Family, Education, Arts and Entertainment and Religion have been tried in the courts of life experiences and found to be lacking and insufficient. All of humanity knows they do not work. Humanity is groaning as in travail, searching for something that works. Humanity is looking for the examples of our lives to be different, to be positive and to provide the answers they are looking for in their lives. We must demonstrate by act and by deed the reality of living in the System God Himself as Jesus Christ delivered to the Earth for all of Humanity to live a fulfilling, victorious life here on Earth right now. Not later in the sweet by and by, but NOW!

Giving: The Most Misunderstood Kingdom Principle for Success

It would be difficult to number all of the books that have been written on success and how to achieve it. However, I do not recall a single book where giving was listed as a significant principle that leads to success. I suppose it may not in the Kingdom of this World, the Kingdom of Darkness. In fact, it is often interpreted as weakness. Yet, in the bestselling book that has ever been written on the subject of success, the book that more copies have been purchased by humanity than any other book, the understanding of the impact of giving on success is both fundamental and foundational. So why is it that in the instruction and teaching on success that the act of giving is not presented clearly as a foundational principle in all of the volumes about success? Could it be that we have been so preoccupied with the achieving and the receiving that we have not considered the impact of our giving on our receiving? Is it possible that we have overlooked one of the major components of success? I believe that to be correct. Giving is a major component in the success equation in the Kingdom.

I am particularly interested in how we define giving and what we consider to be giving? There appears to be agreement that giving is the act of sharing one’s resources with another. Many only consider the sharing of money as giving. One’s time, talents, love, forgiveness and many others are not considered in the giving equation, only money is considered. I believe that to be an error.

The Great Book of Learning says that when we give, we receive (“give and it shall be given unto you”). Is it reasonable to then conclude that the act of giving provides inertia and energy in the receiving process? It says that the amount will be in good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over. That is the description of the receiving when humanity gives.

To me, I envision a container that is tightly packed together, not loosely filled. It further explains the source of the receiving (shall men give unto your bosom/lap). There is clearly the understanding presented that when you give to humanity, humanity will give to you.

A very important point is made about the quantity that you give. (For with the same measure that you give will it be given back unto you). I enjoy the New Living Translation that says, “Give and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full — pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back.”

The connection between giving and receiving is clearly presented. Yet, it seems strange that when we speak about our earnings or revenue plans we do not include the “giving” vantage point. If giving stimulates and activates receiving why would we not consider giving in our earnings plans? I am convinced we will never reach our earnings potential without beginning with our giving plans and commitments.

So often I have heard, “I cannot afford to give.” How can we afford to not give? There was a time in my life when I would see what was left over, and that would determine how much I gave. And I was quick to use any portion of what I had purposed to give to purchase anything not already in my budget using the designated giving funds. That was a time of significant financial struggle. I could not figure out why. I now know that my actions were undermining my financial success. Reducing my giving reduced my receiving. The Great Book of Learning makes that very clear. I did not consider my giving to have anything to do with my receiving. It clearly does.

Next week, we will continue with Part 2 in this series on giving, so be sure to check back in.

The Dynamic of Giving: The Transference of Value

The Dynamic of Giving

In this final blog post of 2020, I want to share with you an older teaching of mine on giving. As we begin the new year of 2021, I am planning on continuing with this giving theme for several more blogs. The revelation I’ve received on the topic of giving has revolutionized my life, and I’ve heard from many others that their lives have been changed too. In fact, I would say my teaching on giving is one of my most popular teachings. May it bless you and help you align your life with our generous, loving Father as we begin the new year.

Transference: the action of transferring something or the process of being transferred.

Value: the regard that something is held to deserve; the importance, the worth, or the usefulness of something.

Giving: the conscious and deliberate action of transferring something that you have to someone else. Something that is considered to be important to; to have worth to the recipient and/or something that is considered to be useful by the one who is receiving the transfer.

A Short list of things that we can give:

Love, respect, honor, knowledge, wisdom, understanding, friendship, relationship, power, authority, dominion, money, food, water, clothing, safety (a safe place), acceptance, approval, time, appropriate touch/a hug, kind words.

What would you add to this list?

It is common to think of money as the only — or at least the primary — commodity that we have available to give. In reality, the list is unending. The list we have included here is not exhaustive. What in your life have you had need of that someone else could be used by the Holy Spirit God to supply that need for you?

To give can be defined as to:

  1. Freely transfer the possession of something to someone; hand over to.
  2. Cause or allow someone or something to have something, especially something abstract; provide or supply with.

To fully understand and to fully comprehend humanity’s charge by our Creator to give, we must first recognize that giving is not a religious mandate of regulation and compliance. Giving is a Dynamic and Dynamics are always relational. Too often in religious and faith teaching, giving is presented as a mandate only involving money in order to provide funding for the operations of the ministry. Rarely, if ever, are the broad spectrums of opportunities that are available for giving to humanity for their well-being and for their blessings ever presented. Many of these opportunities do not cost money, but rather require our time, our fellowship and our relationship.

How often have you seen anyone say, “I want you to sow a seed of kindness, a seed of forgiveness, a seed of love, joy, peace, or a seed of any of the other things we have listed and the many more available for you to be used by the Holy Spirit God to bless humanity and to declare the goodness of our God.” There are often promises of great returns on your giving multiplied exponentially back to you, almost always involving your giving money to a particular ministry first. I am very uncomfortable with these methods for several personal reasons.

  1. Giving is never to be primarily about someone personally receiving because of their gift. Kingdom giving is always motivated by a relationship with our King Jesus. Our giving is always prompted by the Holy Spirit God in order to bless and to honor our God. This giving will always expand the Kingdom and bless humanity.
  2. Money is not the all-in-all in giving. The Great Book of Learning is clear. Seed time and harvest and seed bearing seed after its own kind are Dynamics that work on planet Earth today and will continue to work as long as time remains. The unction of the Holy Spirit God can be for the giving of many things other than money. (Time, love, acceptance, respect, honor and all of the included list and more). Teaching about giving is not to be used for manipulation and for the extraction of funds under any circumstances.
  3. Seed Faith is the teaching that you plant a seed in order to receive a harvest. While seed faith is a real dynamic of scripture, it must be practiced to honor and to glorify our God as our complete source and complete supply.

The request for our seed must produce results that glorify our God, expand the Kingdom, bless humanity and bless our Family. Giving by the direction of the Holy Spirit God will always involve our spirit — the eternal, forever us. Our giving motivation must not come from our mind, our emotions, our feelings and the temporary things that we “see” in time.

Scripture is clear. Giving precedes receiving. Also, it is pointed out that the manner and the attitude of the giver are very important. God loves a generous, extravagant, happy giver who gives because he loves to give for the pleasure and for the enjoyment of giving, especially to honor our God. The giver who is in a love relationship with our Creator God will understand the blessings from giving, and that the greater blessing is from giving, not from receiving.

In the Kingdom System as a pattern for guaranteed success, we understand that giving is an important part of our success in all of the areas of our life experiences. We cannot out give our God.

It has been said that tithing is returning to our God what is His, and that giving is honoring Him with our increase. Both are Dynamics of an interactive system of conflicting and competing forces. If we understood the “if and then” DYNAMIC of tithing, we would aggressively commit to tithing. When we make the correct choice we are guaranteed positive results.  The results may not come in the manner and in the method we expect. But we are assured and we confidently know that our God through humanity will give into our possession overflowing (pressed down and shaken together) blessings we will not have room to keep just for ourselves. It is never just about us. It is always about humanity and the love and passionate commitment of the Lord of Heaven’s Host blessing His creation.

As we consider this teaching, I am asking you to write on paper three people you have encountered today who the Holy Spirit God quickened to you spirit their present need. Record their names and their revealed need. Then, commit to obey the Holy Spirit God and to minister to their need.

How many were not money?

As a part of your regular fellowship with our Creator God, I am asking you to include such a list and a subsequent reaction from the unction of the Holy Spirit God for five (5) people each week. Record them and the results. At the end of each month review the results and you will recognize the blessings that you have received from our God. You will know for certain and you will declare out loud that “it truly is more blessed to give than to receive.” And, your capacity to give will increase proportionally.

PRAISE be to HIS NAME!

Merry Christmas!

We are experiencing the most amazing time ever. Never before have we had the opportunity to have more impact. Our God has chosen us, You and I, to usher in His Kingdom in a way it has never been experienced before by humanity. The Lewis Family and the Team at Kingdom School and Ministry, KSAM, are excited. We are looking forward to and anticipating a great and a mighty move by the Holy Spirit God that will change our world forever. We will not be the same after this year and our awareness of our God’s generous provision and abundant supply for all of Humanity.

During the last quarter of each year, we spend time asking our God what His plans are for us the upcoming year, 2021. We ask what His top three priorities are for us individually and collectively as a Family and as the Leadership Team for KSAM. We record what He says to us, and those become priority for us. We are celebrating this Christmas season with more than usual excitement and anticipation. The need for a living, breathing relationship with our Creator is more evident than normal for everyone. Humanity is searching and many if not most are desperate. We are excited that we have the opportunity to share the reality and the Good News of the overwhelming love of our Father and His individual good plans for all and for each of Humanity.

We are excited about this year and the upcoming year. The table is set. Great and Mighty things are in store for us. The BEST is yet to come.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours. May His goodness and His favor overtake you today and forever. Blessings beyond measure forever.

Developing a Giving Plan

This time of year, many people are making decisions on end-of-year charitable donations. Beyond this, many are assessing their finances and budget for the upcoming year. It is important to have a God-inspired plan of giving, and not just arbitrarily decide how to give based on what’s left over in your budget.

The connection between giving and receiving is clear. Yet it seems strange that when we speak about our earning or our revenue development plans, that we do not begin our plan from the vantage point of our giving commitment. If giving stimulates and activates receiving, then why would we not consider giving as an integral part and the necessary beginning for our earnings plan? I am convinced we will never reach our earning potential without first beginning with our giving plan and our giving commitment.

To determine a giving plan from God you must first hear from God. God is good and His plans for you are for good. The Holy Spirit God is constantly speaking to you through your spirit. To be in relationship with God so that you can hear from Him and recognize His voice, you must fellowship with God by spending time together with Him. There are no shortcuts. You must spend time fellowshipping with God.

Recommendations:

  1. Designate a set time every day that you set aside to fellowship with our God.
  2. Honor that time and stick to it. If you miss it, do not make it legalization and condemning; just be sure you make it at least 70% of the time – five out of seven days per week.
  3. Determine a set amount of time. I suggest you begin with fifteen minutes. Spend ten minutes praising and worshipping God and talking to God about what is important to you. For five minutes listen, do not say anything just concentrate on fellowshipping, worshipping and praising our God with the ears of your spirit attuned to His words about your requests. Do this for thirty days and then every thirty days increase your time by five minutes.
  4. Have with you during these times a notepad or notebook and pen. Have written down what you want to cover and write down what you hear through your spirit when spending time with our God.
  5. Ask very specific and direct questions. Expect very specific and direct answers.
  6. Write down what you hear and record how it plays out in your life. Keep good records. Thank God for specific direction and the resulting outcomes.
  7. There are 31 chapters in Proverbs. Read one chapter per day.
  8. Read Romans 12:1-3 daily. KJV/NLT
  9. Read Hebrews 4:12 daily. KJV/NLT
  10. Reprogram your mind by reading and or listening to the Word and thank God for steps 7, 8 and 9 becoming real in your life.

Developing a Giving Plan for 2021

  1. Begin with a Declaration statement and praise. There are many Declarations to choose from in my free ebook Kingdom Activating Declarations.
  2. Declare out loud what you are believing God for:
    1. God places within us the desires that are in our heart/spirit.
    2. As we fellowship with Him, as we read His Word, as we participate in anointed teaching and preaching, He causes our thoughts to become agreeable with His will and are our plans established.
  3. Divide the areas of your life into sections that you pray specifically for and ask God for direction in each:
    • Family
    • Health
    • Wealth/Money
    • Friends
    • Faith
    • Giving
    • Missions – Local, Globally
    • Ministries
    • Church
    • Pastor/Leader
    • Relationships
    • Employment
    • Deployment
    • Property
    • Thoughts/Attitude
    • Confession/Words
    • Possessions
    • Business
    • Calling / Anointing
    • Personal – spirit, mind, body
    • Greater Influence
    • A right spirit
    • Where you live
    • What you drive
    • What you wear
    • Where and when you vacation
  4. Commit to spending the time necessary to hear from God. Believe what He says to your spirit and do what He directs.
  5. Continue the process everyday and add/delete/change/review and correct whatever is appropriate.
  6. Experience the goodness and blessings of hearing and obeying our God.

These suggestions and thoughts are not all-inclusive, they are not exclusive, nor are they unchangeable. Modify and add to them as the Holy Spirit God inspires and directs. He alone is the Master Teacher. Everyone else works under Him. This and these suggestions are what He, the Holy Spirit God has shared with and provided to me personally. They change for me quite regularly. May He inspire you to greater and better things than these, Humanity needs them. Please share them. If the Holy Spirit God inspires you to add something to this giving plan, please leave a comment below.
